Why are these prices so terrific?
When you buy from Benchmark Imaging and Display you are dealing direct with a commercial printing and imaging lab.
Inexpensive inkjet plotters only produce high quality when they print slowly, so the costs for large graphics stay high. At Benchmark we use a Lambda or Gandinnovations Jeti Flatbed printer. Both printers are the highest quality and most efficient imaging engines on the market.
So although our equipment costs a great deal more, our productivity is so good we are able to offer you excellent quality at terrific prices.
Premium Materials and Techniques
Our banners are made of top grade materials, guaranteed not to delaminate, and durable enough to be used time after time.
The Prints
Our replacement banners are produced on Ilford Flex material, literally the finest photo material available for banner stands in the world because it’s based on a 7mil polyester plastic material, the most durable imaging substrate made. We record it on a Durst Lambda, the highest quality and most efficient photo imaging engine available for indoor graphics. It is laminated with a 3mil luster vinyl film, making it cleanable durable. Our bFlat prints are based on a very similar polyester material but do not include the vinyl overlaminate.
At Benchmark Imaging, we do not recommend PDF “soft proofs.” Why? Because we are as fussy about the color on your replacement panels as you are.
Proofing color on monitors using PDF files is problematic because color will appear not only differently on different monitors, but can appear substantially different from printed material.
The way color is reflected on printed images has a lot to do with the material or substrate on which the image is printed.
When we “hard proof” your image, we will use the actual material your final panel will be printed on. That means the only difference between your proof and the replacement banner will be the laminate we use to protect your image, and that is a minor difference.
At Benchmark Imaging we use GretagMacBeth equipment and software to color manage our monitors, printers, and scanners. It is possible, with considerable effort, to rely on monitor images for color if all color variables of the workstation software, workstation monitor, and the environment the workstation is in, are managed properly.
There is, however, nothing Benchmark can do to insure the PDF color and density you view on your monitor will match the panels we ship. Your results are always more predictable when a hard proof is seen first.
